Two visitors can use this exhibit together. Visitors stand across from each other around a large drum. They place their hands on the handles in front of them. Sensors in the handles detect each visitor's heartbeat. A drumstick in front of each visitor beats the drum at the rate of the person's pulse. At first, each visitor's drumstick will beat a different rhythm, but it is possible through time and coordination for the visitors to slow or speed up their pulse so that the drum beats match.
