This popular exhibit encourages visitors to build and experiment as they direct the path of a ball down the face of a magnetic wall. Visitors learn from hands-on experience about momentum and the force of gravity.
Building materials are moveable pieces backed with magnets so that they stay where they are placed on the wall. There are also some larger devices permanently attached to the wall. Visitors must build a path to these more intricate objects if they want to see how the ball will move through them. The balls are moved from the bottom of the wall to the top by the visitor. There is a hand crank at the base of an enclosed screw which moves the balls back up to the top of the wall. This exhibit was designed in collaboration with The Exhibit Guys Inc.
