This exhibit lets visitors create their own animated cartoons the old fashioned way by drawing individual frames and flipping quickly through them. This process is much easier on a computer than on paper because the computer performs most of the tedious process of redrawing each frame. Visitors only need to draw what is different from one frame to the next. At Creative Machines, we have designed a very intuitive interface in which only the most essential tools are visible. More sophisticated options become apparent after visitors have used the exhibit for some time. A variety of examples and pre-recorded sound effects give visitors some ideas to start with.
