We like to install this exhibit in spaces where visitors are moving around or where sunlight and shadow move across the floor. The principle control is a heavy-duty 10" disk that is free to spin 360 degrees. Visitors give it a spin forward or backward at whatever speed they want to see time move over the last half hour, day, or whatever interval the exhibit has been set to record. Visitors can stop the wheel at any point in time or move it very slowly to examine a particular interval more closely. The exhibit is recording a stop-motion animation while visitors use it, so the sequence of frames is constantly updating itself. Since the computer stores hundreds of frames, the images move smoothly as the wheel is turned. The camera can be mounted remotely with relative ease because its connection to the base station is entirely wireless.
