Many of the one-of-a-kind pieces we develop feature unique technology that can be used elsewhere and for this reason we sometimes produce standard products for other fabricators. One of these products is rigid acrylic panels that incorporate Rosco theatrical gels. We developed this process for the atrium of Discovery Gateway, the new home of the Children's Museum of Utah. Our process bonds Rosco gels to acrylic plastic using an optically-clear, UV-resistant adhesive. We then fuse the edges with our laser cutter to prevent delamination or water intrusion. We can produce complex shapes from computer files up to 4 feet by 10 feet. Our laminated gels have found applications in decorative art and architectural lighting. We have a UV-blocking version available.
