The Hershey ball machine is located in an open sitting area at the Penn State Milton Medical Center where it can be enjoyed by visitors day and night. The sculpture honors the local animals and plants of Hershey, Pennsylvania and features a total of 15 devices, including a hand-painted Owl, Squirrel, and Deer that move individually as the balls pass by. The spinning ferris wheel is designed with leaves to complement the nature theme. The sculpture is housed in a unique frame that has been carefully crafted to blend in with the surrounding architecture. With its ground-level base and custom curved back panel, the sculpture suits the curvature of the adjacent wall, creating a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing display.
To ensure that visitors can fully enjoy the serene atmosphere, the Hershey ball machine sculpture has been designed to be as unobtrusive as possible. The soft rubber lacrosse balls reduce overall noise and the absence of sound-producing elements ensures that the sound levels in the space remain low. Overall, the sculpture offers visitors a peaceful and visually stunning experience.
