We installed Wandering Stars by Joe O’Connell and Blessing Hancock at the Cushing Street and Granada Avenue stop as part of Tucson Modern Streetcar project. Cody Palen and Jake Noonan assisted in assembling the piece over the summer. Soroosh Hedayati and Jon Katz developed and fabricated the electronics. Elliot Hart, Kim Kwasny, and Marcia Slagle were instrumental in moving the piece from our studio and assembling it on site. At Wandering Stars, visitors to the Tucson Convention Center have complete control over the color of all segments in the artwork. They can compose color sequences that express themselves or leave colored messages for future visitors to the site. #gallery-2 { margin: auto; } #gallery-2 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-2 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-2 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Our Creative Machines shop is located on the ancestral lands of the Tohono O'odham Nation. We are nestled in the heart of Tucson, Arizona, a vibrant, culture-rich city, both presently and historically. This land was home to some of the earliest people in North America, the Hohokam, and we honor and respectfully acknowledge the indigenous nations that have stewarded this land since time immemorial. Today, Arizona is home to 22 federally recognized tribes, with Tucson being home to the Tohono O’odham and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.
