Chinook Arc was selected as one of the projects for the 2015 Public Art in Canada – A Year in Review. The selections will be formally announced and recognized at the Creative Cities Network 2015 Summit, October 27-29th. The City of Calgary Public Art Managers submitted Chinook Arc to the Creative Cities Network Public Art Year in Review 2015 call that posted in July. The theme of this years summit was centered around nurturing, growing and celebrating the community. We are honored to have Chinook Arc highlighted by the panel as an artwork connected to the theme of the summit and provided inspiration for its visitors.

You can find more information about the summit here.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Our Creative Machines shop is located on the ancestral lands of the Tohono O'odham Nation. We are nestled in the heart of Tucson, Arizona, a vibrant, culture-rich city, both presently and historically. This land was home to some of the earliest people in North America, the Hohokam, and we honor and respectfully acknowledge the indigenous nations that have stewarded this land since time immemorial. Today, Arizona is home to 22 federally recognized tribes, with Tucson being home to the Tohono O’odham and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.
