Cloud Embrace Unveiled in Oklahoma City

We are excited to share that Cloud Embrace, a new immersive public artwork by Creative Machines, was officially unveiled March 11, 2026 with a ribbon cutting ceremony in Oklahoma City’s Bricktown Entertainment District. The project was commissioned by Visit Oklahoma City and the Inasmuch Foundation and gifted to the City of Oklahoma City as a new landmark gathering space.

Standing approximately 24 feet tall and 40 feet wide, Cloud Embrace is designed as an immersive sculpture that visitors can walk inside and experience from multiple perspectives. Its perforated steel panels cast shifting patterns of color and shadow during the day, while integrated LED lighting transforms the artwork into a glowing destination at night.

The design was inspired by Oklahoma City’s expansive skies and the way clouds become a canvas for light and color. As Joseph O’Connell shared during the unveiling, the ever-changing sky is also a metaphor for the evolving experiences that shape a community.

The Cloud Embrace sculpture was created to welcome visitors, encourage exploration, and provide a vibrant place to gather, reflect, and take photos.
