Appreciation Ceremony for New Park at Bike Church

On January 24, an appreciation ceremony was held to honor Jean and Jim Gorman who have recently worked to beautify the area surrounding Bike Church by creating a small park called Bike Church Sanctuary. The Gormans used a series of personalized brick pavers installed within the sculpture to raise money for the charity the B.R.A.D. Fund which is “dedicated to extending bike lanes, educating both cyclists and motorists of their rights on the road and teaching people of all ages how to share highways and roads as equals.” The couple started the fund after their son, Brad, was killed by a motorist by biking in September 1999.
