Last week, Stories Interweave, was completely installed under the Colfax Avenue Bridge in Aurora, CO. The 8 brilliantly lit chandelier sculptures were all hung under the bridge so they can be seen glowing at all times of day. After sunset, when the glowing effect is most apparent, it’s easy to read the words and phrases that make up each of the panels. The words are stories gathered from immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers residing in Aurora and describe their personal experiences, but also reflect larger universal themes of change and human connection. These stories come together to celebrate diversity and connection within the community.
